Festivals: 2002 – Present

With two decades on the road and five albums as a band leader, Darcy Perry has established himself as one of New Zealand’s premier blues artists.

In addition to the venues (large and small) played all over New Zealand and Australia as part of regular touring and album release tours (Phoenix 2008, Harmonica Masters 2007, Heavy Rain 2006, Don’t Hold Back 2005), the band has also worked with international artists (Watermelon Slim, Parris Macleod, Sista Jacqui, Doc Span, Yuto Fujiwara, Lightning Red, Calvin Welch).

Featuring 3 of New Zealand's top Blues bands; headlined by the Darcy Perry Blues Band from Auckland, Fraser Chirnside and the Giddy Robins Trio from Methven and King Leo and The Growling Dogs from Dunedin.

The bands will play in the Downtown area which will also feature the best in wines from Opihi Winery and Monteith's Beers along with a good selection of non-alcoholic beverages. There will be some great food there and barbecues.

The concert is designed to be a great afternoon event for fans and families and is raising funds for the new MRI scanner for Timaru.

Please note that Timaru's Saturday tickets include entry to The Timaru Motor Racing Blues Concert.

Parachute Festival is the largest Christian music festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Over 100 local and international bands fill Hamilton’s Mystery Creek Events Centre with everything from hardcore to hip hop, electronica to alt-country, and plenty in between. Held over Auckland anniversary weekend, the Festival features the heavyweights of Christian music across six stages.

The drug and alcohol free four-day event offers a wide range of entertainment alongside the rock n’ roll – including amusement rides, seminars, water slide, skate park, and shopping.

The dates for Parachute 2012 are 27 - 30 Jan.

Note: A different act at DeBretts every Thursday (from 19 January until 9 March) will make sure you are never stuck for something to do.
